Meet the In Tune Performance’s new twin-turbo V8 strip weapon.
Built at In Tune’s Western Australian workshop and scheduled to compete in the 2008 ANDRA Series in the EFI Group 2 class, the full chassis drag car is based on the 2003 Holden Monaro known outside Australia as a Pontiac GTO.
The full moly tube chassis has been built in-house using the latest Pro Stock chassis plans provided by RJ Race Cars and Quarter-Max Racing (of which In Tune is the sole Australian distributor)
The drive line consists of a 3 speed Lenco transmission utilizing a Crower centrifugal clutch and a full sheet metal diff with floating hubs housing a Mark Williams diff centre.
The engine is a 332cui small block Chev with Buick cylinder heads. The reason for the small displacement is the weight index system in the Group 2 racing class.
The twin turbo system uses Turbonetics Y2K turbochargers, Turbosmart Race Port bovs, Turbosmart PowerGate50 wastegates and an e-Boost2 boost management system. The intake manifold consists of custom sheet metal fabrication wearing a pair of Hypertune 90mm throttle bodies.
The car is scheduled for completion in early 2008. Stay tuned!
